The first ever known
insulin pump was the human pancreas which provides the body with
required insulin during meals and at down time where the liver
produces more sugar! Thus, it is very important for diabetic
patients to have their insulin injections in a way which somehow
simulates to the pancreas resulting in several injections per day
including one at dawn time !! This of course has several drawbacks,
which finally lead to implementing a better method for this
procedure to take place more accurately... this method is the
Insulin Pump.
Why the
Insulin Pump ?
The most physiological insulin delivery system (like the human
pancreas)
It offers a 24-hr
stable blood glucose profile
It uses regular
insulin ONLY ( any brand) so that it spares the patient the
Hypos that result from long acting insulin preparations.
It uses any brand
of short acting insulin (open system )
Insulin
consumption is reduced by 30% (more economic)
The ideal method
for treating Dawn's Phenomenon
The ideal method
for treating Hypoglycemia Unawareness
The ideal method
to avoid Nocturnal Hypoglycemia
The ideal
method to avoid Diabetes Complications (DCCT)*
With the PUMP you
are free to ..EXERCISE whenever you want for whatever duration
without Hypos.. ONLY.. push a button.
With the PUMP you
are free to ….FAST , DIET , SKIP a meal without Hypos without
dose adjustment…ONLY …push a button.
With the PUMP you
are free to … WAKE-UP late or change your working schedule
without Hypos.. ONLY ..push a button.
The DCCT
showed clearly that those who achieved a better blood sugar
control with an average 2% lower glycohemoglobin value had a
tremendous decrease in their risk for the long-term
complications of diabetes. Risk of diabetic eye disease was
decreased by 76% and reductions in risk for kidney and nerve
damage were nearly as great. Obviously, diabetes control
matters... a LOT. In fact, these results were so significant
that the DCCT investigators felt compelled to end the
study one year early so the conventionally treated patients
could have the opportunity to realize the benefits of
intensive diabetes management.

I
wish everyone understands that a diabetic is a completely
normal person as long as he/she follows the guidelines!
